When Andrea Kobler was looking for a job in 2010 after graduating BMS, the plan was clear: gain one or two years of work experience – then maybe move on. She applied at bb – and discovered at the interview invitation that Dietikon is further from Winterthur than DietLikon. She got the job – and has stayed ever since. What was planned as 1-2 years has now become 15.
Andrea’s long tenure is not only due to exciting tasks but also to the special culture at bb. «The environment is incredibly human, and my supervisors (three so far) have always been very approachable – you can talk to them anytime. I don’t think that’s something to take for granted.»
bb has remained an outstanding employer for Andrea, offering her numerous opportunities for further training: from obtaining a language diploma to training as a purchasing specialist and then as an international trade specialist. And when purely handling orders became too monotonous, she was given additional responsibilities in the corporate and compliance areas – tasks related to company strategy, rules, and policies. This way, she could continue with her previous tasks while also taking on exciting new challenges.
Her current highlight? Andrea has just become a proud mom of twin girls and is especially happy to be able to extend her maternity leave – not just the usual three months – and return afterward with her preferred workload. « That’s definitely not something every employer allows – and I’m especially grateful to my supervisor Daniela for making it possible. »
Dear Andrea: the entire bb team thanks you for your 15 years of top commitment and warmly congratulates you on your little twins!
