bb on tour: Part of our team was recently invited to the exclusive Soeder Partner Event. As a selected distributor, we had the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the factory, explore the latest products from the Swiss natural skincare brand, and experience firsthand how philosophy, production, and product development come together.
The takeaway: Soeder offers much more than skincare and cosmetics – the brand stands for Swiss Made quality, natural ingredients, sustainability, elegant design, and scents that evoke real emotions.
Pratar ni svenska?
Soeder was founded in 2013 and is named after the Swedish word for «south». It specifically refers to the Stockholm district of Södermalm, which inspired the Swedish founders Hanna and Johan Olzon Åkerström with its minimalist design and sustainable mindset.
The name is also a play on words, reflecting their journey from the north (Sweden) to the south (Zurich, Switzerland).
It all started with a small shop in downtown Zurich selling sustainably produced everyday goods. Over time, the focus shifted toward skincare products – especially natural soaps.
Today, Soeder stands for premium Swiss natural skincare and cosmetics, all produced in-house.
The products are manufactured at the factory in Zurich Altstetten using high-quality plant-based ingredients. Natural soaps, for example, are traditionally made with cold-pressed oils and honey – 100% natural ingredients in all formulations and products. Silicone and microplastics are deliberately avoided.
The iconic minimalist brown glass bottles with soap and lotion have become almost cult items and are often found in hotels and restaurants. The range also includes hand and face creams, shampoos, body oils, lip balms, sunscreens, and other skincare products. The signature scents are herbal and fresh, based on essential oils. Popular scent lines include Herbal Garden (sage, rosemary, lavender) and Orange Grove (citrus, cedarwood).
Thanks to in-house production, quality and processes are fully transparent, and short supply chains are guaranteed – from formulation to finished product. This clear positioning firmly places Soeder in the premium natural cosmetics segment.
Back to our factory visit: one of the highlights of the event was the presentation by CEO Karoline Huber, who demonstrated how Soeder continues to grow while staying true to its core values – Swiss Made, sustainability, and transparency.
A particularly exciting aspect is the in-house product development: with a scent expert identifying new trends and creating unique scent worlds, and a cosmetic chemist developing formulations, Soeder combines emotional sensory appeal with technical precision. Each product delivers both functional performance and emotional impact.
But why are Soeder products especially suitable as premium promotional gifts?
First of all: almost everyone uses skincare products – especially soap. It’s something people use daily, and when customized with your logo, it keeps your brand visible every day. But that’s not all.
To better understand the appeal of Soeder products, it’s worth taking a quick look at multisensory marketing.
Multisensory refers to engaging multiple senses at once – in this case, sight, touch, and smell. Studies show that the sense of smell is strongly linked to the limbic system, the center of emotions and memory. Scents anchor experiences more directly and sustainably than visual or purely tactile stimuli.
Soeder’s premium soaps, hand washes, lotions, and other skincare products work on multiple levels:
Together, this creates a strong and lasting branding effect that keeps your brand present over time – throughout your customers’ daily lives. In addition, production in Zurich, transparent processes, and refill options reflect responsibility toward both the environment and consumers.
For companies that focus on sustainable, credible, and sensory brand communication, Soeder products are therefore a perfect fit.
So what’s next? What can we expect from Soeder this year?
Karoline Huber revealed that the next generation of products is already in the pipeline. This means we can look forward to new scent lines and extensions of the existing range for additional target groups and applications.
Especially exciting for promotional campaigns: the return of directly branded bottles. Thanks to an optimized branding area, Soeder products can once again be customized with an elegant single-color logo print. At bb trading, such customizations are already possible in small quantities – ideal for exclusive client gifts and premium corporate gifting concepts.
