Waste that is carelessly left in nature not only spoils the landscape, but above all harms animals and plants. Plastic in the water endangers fish and birds, cigarette butts release toxins into the groundwater, and glass or metal can injure grazing animals.  \r\n\r\nThere\u2019s also the long decomposition period of many materials: a PET bottle takes up to 450 years to break down, while an aluminum can takes up to 500 years. Besides the ecological damage, littering is also costly \u2013 according to IGSU (Swiss Competence Centre against Littering), Swiss municipalities spend around 100 million francs each year on cleaning up. These damages can be avoided \u2013 by disposing of waste properly and raising awareness. For us, this means: every single clean-up action matters.  \r\n\r\nAnd, as every year, we also came across some unusual finds \u2013 reminders that awareness has not yet reached
